Volunteers needed to provide Bed and Breakfast

Dog lovers required to provide overnight care for dogs in advanced training!

We are looking for volunteers to provide overnight 'Bed & Breakfast' accommodation for advanced dogs during training. This rewarding role entails having a dog from 5pm until 8.30am on weekdays, and possibly all weekend.

The Canine Partners B&B programme has been set up because we believe it is conducive to our advanced dogs for their training to be continued while they are in a home environment. The dogs are house trained, can be left alone for short periods of time and are very well behaved. Although previous experience with dogs is not required, a B&B Volunteer would ideally meet the following criteria:

• Applicants must live locally to Midhurst and/or be able to bring the dog to the training centre by  9.15am and collect no later than 5pm on weekdays.

• Applicants must have a secure, dog-friendly garden.

• Applicants must be happy to maintain the standard of training of the dog they are looking after (training will be given).

• Applicants must be physically strong enough to manage a young fit dog.

• Applicants should have access to transport suitable for carrying the dog.

Canine Partners will provide food, bedding and equipment for the dog and expenses (such as mileage) can be claimed back from the charity. Lucy O'Brien, Training Teams Manager at Canine Partners comments, “Being a B&B volunteer is ideal for people who want to look after a dog without the full time responsibility. All our dogs need is a good home for the evenings during their advanced training and the volunteers don’t even have to walk them!”

For further information and an application form, please call The Training Department on 08456-580-480 or email info@caninepartners.co.uk
